Today is my first wedding anniversary, so I thought I’d just share a quick photo from our wedding Day:
Because when you think about it, this is one of the reasons I love having a garden: To be able to create a space for us that is beautiful, private and relaxing. I’m trying to create a set piece for lazy days in the sun, snow ball fights in the winter, evenings of too much red wine and so on and so forth; those moments of being away from the city and just relaxing together.
(And – perhaps equally important for a semi-hermit like myself – when my husband moves back to Denmark in 9 months’ time I guess it won’t hurt that I have the summer house and the garden to retreat to whenever I just need a day on my own.)
Anyway, I’m trying to stay clear of “mushy” here, but I’m really pleased to be married to a great guy and I can’t wait for him to move home again.
Happy Anniversary!! 😀
I love that picture. I’m so glad you found someone who makes you so happy!
I love that picture, too… (Though it’s a bit depressing to see how blond I was last year; this year my hair is much darker, both because I haven’t had as much time to spend in the garden and because it’s just been a gray and wet summer – the second-wettest on record in Denmark!)
Happy anniversary to the very handsome couple. You can just feel the love ooze in your words about your partner and the garden you a making for the two of you to share. Many long and happy years ahead.
I’m not unhappy about my choice of husband, to put it that way. 🙂
And we have a shared love of the garden, even if my husband perhaps doesn’t have the same feeling for what grows how and where; he’s grown up in the city, and he will just have to learn to get a feel for the soil. And if he doesn’t, then it doesn’t matter; I’m more than happy to garden for the two of us.
Happy anniversary! Your garden has had a year to grow with you – will be fun to see it flourishing next summer, when the plants are just a little bigger.
The garden could definitely use a few more years, and preferably years when I don’t have to spend most of the summer decorating an apartment, rather than gardening.
I look forward to finding time this autumn to prep for next year’s growing season…
Happy Anniversary!
Do create a haven, away from it all… full of fragrance…. your life will change, you’ll see; it’s enchanting!
The garden has changed my life already, and definitely for the better. It’s a lovely addition to a city life; an escape for the weekend whenever needed, or a place to gather friends for a summer lunch. There are great parks in Copenhagen, but a garden is so much more than just a green outdoor space.
happy (belated) Anniversary! I wish you both a lifetime of creating happy memories in your lovely garden!!
And just that we intend to have! Thank you for such a beautiful wish.
