The noxious garlic potion that Fer recommended is certainly doing exactly what it was meant to. Last weekend the aphids were neck-a-neck on this rose, and last night I could only find 3-4 of them!
Definitely a success!

>It may be stinky, but it is certainly effective! I now have a spray of it in the greenhouse ready to be deployed at the first hint of a comeback, though I think the combined efforts of the spiders and bluetits are able to keep them under control now. Which is just as well, as I have no idea where the ladybirds have got to!
>Just keep an eye out. They sneak back in. I keep spraying for about two weeks to make sure I get the whole family of them,
>They're still gone, though I keep spraying every so often and intend to just continue through the summer. (And thank God the smell goes away after a day or so…)
