So I finally took the plunge and moved everything from Blogger over here to WordPress, and I still haven’t quite gotten everything in its right place but that will come.
I decided, though, that the move was a good enough occasion to change the look of the blog; originally I chose the dark background of http://flaneurgardening.blogspot.com/ because I figured it would make pictures “pop” but it’s not ideal for reading and also easily looks kind of bleak and depressing, so I’ve gone for something lighter this time around.
Perhaps I will change this theme again shortly, since I’m not quite happy with it, but it does the trick for now and that’s what matters. Contingency is king!

Søren, the new look is wonderful–very clean, and the header photo evokes just what we all imagine a flâneur’s garden experience should be. (I also find the dark print on light background much easier to read.) Enjoy your new digs!
I like the way it’s less cool and much more friendly. And yes, easier on the eyes…

I was actually happy enough with Blogger, except for the lack of threaded comments, so that was my main reason for moving platform, but so far all seems well.

Hi Soren, I’ve been thinking for a while now of moving over to WordPress from Blogger. Have you been able to import all of your blog over to WP? Was it straightforward?

WordPress imported blog entries, images, comments and everything in very little time, so that was really the easiest of all things. Then I selected standard template and added a few widgets, and then I was ready to go.
